With proper sharpening, your blades should last years. Many people think that brand new clipper blades come out of the package already sharp, but this is not always the case. If your new clipper blades aren't cutting then they may need to be sharpened! We do not sharpen clipper blades used by barbers, only detachable blades used for grooming dogs.
